Arkansas women's golf media guide honored

Published: Monday, July 21, 2008 PRINT E-MAIL

The University of Arkansas women's golf media guide was named fifth-best in the country by the College Sports Information Directors of America's (CoSIDA ) publication contest committee it was announced recently.

The annual book, which details the history of the women's golf program highlighting the current season, was written, designed and typeset by Assistant Media Relations Director Jeri Thorpe with editorial assistance from Associate Athletic Director Dr. Bill Smith. It was printed at Multi-Ad in Peoria, Ill., and the honor is one of several printing awards for the athletic department this year.

The 2007-08 Golf Media Guide featured seniors Stacy Lewis, Ashley Medders and Whitney Sylvan along with first-year head coach Shauna Estes-Taylor on the cover.

Estes-Taylor stepped into the head coach's role in late summer while Lewis returned to Arkansas for her final year of collegiate golf as the reigning NCAA Champion.

Lewis and the Lady Razorbacks reached new heights this season with the four-time All-American winning six events. She paced Arkansas to a team title, a second-place finish at the Southeastern Conference Championship and a program-best eighth-place finish at the 2008 NCAA Championship in Albuquerque, N. M., in late May.
